Michelle Hampton

Alderwood Therapy

About your therapist, Michelle Hampton MBACP

I am an experienced counsellor with a therapeutic background in charity and public sectors. I offer both face to face and online therapy to people over sixteen facing a wide range of emotional and mental health struggles.

I am caring, non-judgemental, authentic, and well-informed. I incorporate a wide range of theories and philosophies into my work.

My qualifications and theoretical understanding are important but you also want to feel like you are working with a human who has real life experience of how hard life can be sometimes, how painful, how hopeless and scary.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I am also registered with the Counselling Directory.

Finding our sense of purpose and meaning

Humans have always told stories; they are as essential to us as warmth, safety and love. Stories give us meaning and purpose, they help us to make sense of the world, of ourselves.

But sometimes our past experiences, or what we are going through right now, leave us with negative stories, beliefs and ideas about ourselves. We struggle to see what’s true and what’s not. In a safe and supportive environment here at Alderwood Therapy you can begin to unpick those stories and help to discover your true sense of meaning and purpose.

What can I help you with?

Why Alderwood? About the amazing Alder tree...

The beautiful Alder tree grows from damp and dark conditions. The Alder was used to build the foundations of Venice, primarily due to its amazing ability to grow stronger when subjected to the pressure of being constantly underwater.
